Welcome to MapMyStuff, your new spot on the web to construct interactive maps of almost anything you can imagine. Right now, we only support United States locations, but as we grow, we’ll add The World to our coverage.
It couldn’t be easier to get started. Build an Excel spreadsheet with just 2 columns to get started. The first column is a location (address, city or zip code) and the 2nd column is a Layer Name.
You can have multiple layers to help you visualize and compare your locations. For example you might have a list of locations and name one layer “Restaurants with Bars” and the second layer “Restaurants without Bars”.
Optionally, you can add a description column to your Excel sheet and say something about each location. You’ll see the description when you mouse over one of the map pins. Descriptions are incredibly flexible – anything you can do in HTML can be included in a description.
When you get the map looking the way you want, you can share it on a website or your Facebook page by using the share button under the map. People who come to your site or Facebook page will be able to navigate around the map and turn layers on and off so they can see what you see.
So try it out and let us know what you think. If anything doesn’t work, let us know and we’ll fix it. If you have ideas for other features we could add to MapMyStuff or if you have a cool application you’d like to share drop us a line.
